Both he and nearly all his friends linger at the office until 9 or 10 p.m. just to avoid spending time at home with their wives. Apparently, their spouses make unreasonable demands and constantly nag them. Many wives tend to compare their husbands to their friends’ husbands or the “perfect” men they see online—unfavorably, of course, leaving the poor husbands no better than calling their wives “devils.”
