The Texas Department of Transportation (USA) carried out an unusual road cleanup operation.

The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that an 18-wheeler overturned on the highway after the driver lost control. The driver and passenger were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and while their lives were not at risk, the cargo caused quite a stir.

The truck was carrying 8 million newly minted dimes that spilled onto the road. It’s easy to calculate that this amounted to $800,000 in coins scattered across the highway.

The road was closed for several hours as crews from the Transportation Department worked to collect the spilled change. One can only hope none of the coins went missing.
