The Texas Department of Transportation (USA) carried out an unusual road-clearing operation.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, an 18-wheeler truck tipped over on the highway after the driver lost control. The driver and passenger were hospitalized with minor injuries, and while their condition wasn’t life-threatening, the cargo caused quite a stir.

The truck was carrying 8 million freshly minted dimes, which spilled across the roadway. A quick calculation shows that $800,000 worth of coins ended up scattered on the road.

The highway remained closed for several hours as cleanup crews from the Transportation Department gathered the loose change. Here’s hoping not a single coin went missing.
